Device Connectivity |
-
Leading the way for Device Connectivity
Moxa is developing innovative and performance-efficient technologies that represent the biggest step in device networking since 1988. In this section, you will learn about how we are applying this technology to create some of the most advanced device networking products available. According to Senior Director Sureen Lee, "Our commitment to innovation and leading technology, combined with our ability to integrate products to form better solutions, is sure to help you build a successful business strategy."
a. Ring Redundancy at the Device Level
With the evolution and increased use of industrial Ethernet, a new trend of using ring topologies at the device level has emerged. Customers nowadays often want to connect both serial and Ethernet devices to a self-healing Ethernet ring. In this section, you will learn about the NPort S8000 series. This state-of-the-art product combines a serial device server with a managed Ethernet switch that supports Moxa's own Turbo Ring redundancy protocol. |
|
b. How to Grab the other Half of the Device Server Pie
According to third party reports and Moxa's own estimates, embedded device servers are a big part of the device server pie in the worldwide marketplace. In order to increase our share of this segment of the market, Moxa is making a big investment on developing a new SoC, which is a specialized designe for our brand-new NE-5000 Series. With this new SoC, the NE-5000 will be small but sturdy, and will be even better (and even cheaper!) than the leading embedded device server product. |
|
c. Leading Trend in MSB—High Performance PCIe Solutions
In 2006, Moxa introduced a new PCI Express multiport serial board solution that was quickly followed by similar releases from several of our competitors. With the launch of the new PCI Express 2.0, we have looking at what opportunities there are for adding more value to these products, and how to create new sources of revenue. In this section, you will see the world's first pure PCIe technology, which elevates the efficiency and flexibility of MSB solutions.
|
d. Migration of Industrial-grade Optical Fiber Solutions in Host
Optical fiber is better for plant process control networking. According to Casper Yang, one of Moxa's preeminent R&D managers,"fiber is a must for Ethernet applications that transmit data over 100 meters." In addition, it is extremely difficult to eavesdrop on fiber-optic connections, guaranteeing a high degree of security. In this presentation, Moxa will introduce new industrial-grade optical fiber solutions that emphasize reliability, flexibility, and compatibility. |
